Ribbon Blender has been one of the most widely used powder mixer in the worldwide every day. It is a basic industrial mixing machine. They consist, basically, of a trough-shaped shell with a semicircular bottom, fitted with a horizontal longitudinal shaft on which are mounted arms supporting a combination of ribbon blades, paddles or helical screws set at a fairly close clearance to the semicircular mixer body so that no layer of material remains on the bottom of the mixer. The most effective design of ribbon layout is the double spiral in which the outer ribbon moves the product in one direction and the inner ribbon moves it in the opposite direction. The ribbons rotate and move materials both radially and laterally to insure thorough blends in short cycle times. Ribbon agitators are used for blends that will be between 30 and 70% of the rated capacity of the blender.

  1. Normal Standard

It is a basic type which is widely used for various industries. The drive unit could be light duty or heavy duty and shaft is flange connection for easy maintenance.

  1. GMP Standard

As we all know, GMP is the highest standard for mixer which need Ra0.4 finish for material contact part inside mixer. Furthermore, the construction material of mixer should be stainless steel 304 or 316L. However, the bolts and screws are not allowed inside. So, thru shaft without flange is standard for GMP ribbon blender. The seal part should also be split seal which can be maintained easily to change packing seal. The key point is there must be no any dead space for contamination.

  1. Jacket Type

For some typical processed material, the customer need cooling or heating jacket to be combined with mixing. For example: the cooling jacket is normally used in plastic powder industry and heating jacket is normally used for drying. Due to it is more complex than ordinary type mixer, the engineer shall get detail information about jacket using including pressure, working medium and temperature.

  1. Vacuum Type

Normally speaking, vacuum and drying is always be together in mixer because the vapor shall need to be sucked out in order to get better and fast drying result. All construction part on ribbon mixer is stronger than standard type and cover of mixer shall be cone type in order to bear vacuum pressure.

  1. Choppers Type

Ribbon Blender is not a good mixer for shearing mixing like ploughshare mixer but choppers can be added as option in order to break agglomeration. When customer adds liquid spraying onto powder, the product is easily gets blocked. So, it needs chopper blades to shear caking.
