Horizontal Mixer

Horizontal mixer contains ribbon blender, ploughshare mixer, twin shaft paddle mixer. Horizontal mixer requires less height compared to vertical mixer.

  • Twin shafts paddle mixer’s main task is to produce a homogeneous mixture, independent of size, shape and density, in shortest possible time. The batch mixer is considered as one of the best in homogeneity and it has been used for decades within all processing industries. The two axises of mixing interior rotates to different sides and paddles attached to the axes forms fluidized area by diffusing mixed materials to different directions according to stable apex speed. At this time, the movement of materials is concentrated on the higher center part from the bottom of mixer, and therefore, the effective volume of mixing room increases, and as the effective volume increases, the collision and rubbing between materials decrease.

  • How it Works

Plough Shear Mixer (also named ploughshare mixer, plow mixer, plough mixer) consists of a cylindrical drum containing plough shaped mixing elements that are mounted on a horizontal shaft. It creates a mechanical fluidized bed mixing action. The mixing tools project and hurl material away from the wall into free space in a crisscross direction, and inversely back again. The plow separates and lifts the product into three-dimensional motion, while the number and arrangement of the tools insure agitation back and forth along the length of the vessel. When required, the mix action is assisted by high speed chopper devices–independent high-speed motors with customized blades for adding shear to the product mix.

Advantages of Choosing VORTEX Ribbon Blender

    What is a Ribbon Blender?

Ribbon Blender (also named ribbon mixer) is a basic industrial mixing machine. Vortex ribbon blender consists, basically, of a trough-shaped shell (usually 2 to 3 times longer than its wide) with a semicircular bottom, fitted with a horizontal longitudinal shaft on which are mounted arms supporting a combination of ribbon blades, paddles or helical screws set at approx. 5mm clearance to the semicircular mixer body so that no layer of material remains on the bottom of the ribbon mixer at discharging materials. ribbon-blender-mixer-structure

How does a Ribbon Blender Work?

The most effective design of Vortex ribbon layout is the double spiral in which the outer ribbon moves the product in one direction and the inner ribbon moves it in the opposite direction. The helical ribbons rotate and move materials both radially and laterally, and thus mixing materials form convection & tumble motion to insure thorough mixing homogeneity in short cycle times (usually 2-10 minutes). Vortex ribbon agitators are designed for loading ratio that will be 40% - 60% of ribbon blender's nominal capacity.
    • No Dead Zone with Vortex contoured flush valve
    • Few Discharge Residue due to high precised clearance control
