With the development of various process requirement by customers, the mixer is not only be used for powder mixing, but also for more and complicated applications such as drying for moisture product, cooling for heat product and reacting for chemical product. In most time,/plow mixer is well known used for above applications but can also fullfill complicated functions for some typical product. When we design a suitable
1. Is there any pressure inside vessel?
Because there is pressure happen possible for some typical chemical reaction during mixing. We shall pay highly attention to this before design. The vessel thickness, cover type and seal part will be different from ordinary ribbon blender. The thickness of vessel can be designed according to the ASME pressure vessel standard. The cover will be like dome type if have pressure inside vessel to avoid flat flange cover from deformation. If pressure higher than 2 bar, the general packing seal is not suitable and we will consider about mechanical seal but it have very high demand on shaft balance if using mechanical seal assembly.
2. The pressure and medium of jacket
The customer shall provide the pressure of jacket they want according to their process. As for cooling, the medium is circulating cooling water and pressure is 4 bar max. As for heating, it can be separated into hot water, hot oil and steam. Hot water and oil is circulated inside jacket. So, the pressure will be also not higher than 4 bar. But for steam, we shall be careful check and design because the pressure of steam medium jacket is depended on the temperature. If the temperature is higher beyond 130 degree, we would like to suggest customer using hot oil to instead of steam because 130 degree need high pressure for steam which need much cost for mixer.
3. How is the status of product during process in
The customer use ribbon blender for heating is to dry moisture product. So, the condition of product will have some different from moisture to semi-moisture and to dry powder finally. As for mixing time, it is easy to make mositure product to semi-moisture in a short time but it takes long time from semi-moisture to dry powder. Furthermore, the shaft speed shall be variable. Low speed at first stage and fast speed at final stage.
According to different products, different ribbon design is available. Chopper can be added if meeting easy agglomerate product.
